My Philosophy

As an educator, I am most passionate about preparing the next generation to become engaged, socially responsible global citizens with the skills needed to lead purposeful and critically examined lives. Education beyond high school should be about more than acquiring information and specific skills. Higher education at its best can help you learn how to:

• open yourself to new ideas and experiences

• reflect upon ideas and experiences and, thereby, get to know yourself better;

• think critically, analytically, and strategically in order to evaluate and solve problems;

• write and communicate well;

• understand and employ statistics and computation as tools;

• develop greater facility and comfort with technology; and

• appreciate the contribution of literature, the arts, science, mathematics, philosophy, and history to human endeavors.

As you travel along the path to higher education and beyond, you will come to discover, or recognize, and understand many aspects of yourself, including what excites and energizes you, how you learn best, and what you value or cherish.

As your educational consultant, I will assist you in navigating this journey of self-discovery by helping you to:

• clarify your goals

• make sound and realistic choices

• formulate an action plan to meet/achieve your goals

• articulate your hopes and dreams in a way that lets your voice shine through
